Birthday Party Themes
Somewhere at twenty we stop looking forward to growing up and start mourning growing old. In fact, many birthdays go by with only a modicum of celebration. Take the time to change that for your loved ones by bringing back the joy of birthdays with theme parties. There are so many birthday party themes to choose from, there is no reason rely on tired traditions.
The birthday boy or girl is the star of the show. Unfortunately this is something that disappears as we age. Let your friends feel this way again by tailoring the party theme around their likes or dislikes. If they are frustrated performers they would no doubt be delighted to find a karaoke machine in their living room and a group of friends to impress.
The machines are affordable to rent and most come with a huge selection of popular songs for all ages to enjoy. Big gamblers would enjoy a casino night either in their homes or as an outing. Bowling alleys, sports events or strip bars, if you decide to go out ensure the celebrant is properly decorated with embarrassing hats or sashes. These can usually be purchased for very little a party supply stores. The more attention, the better.
Games have stopped being a part of adult parties and again, this is a loss. Play more ‘mature’ games such as truth or dare with the guests focusing their questions on the birthday boy or girl. You can find ideas for many drinking games on the net and these are guaranteed to loosen your guests up enough to enjoy a round of pin the tail on the donkey or other nostalgic games.
Serve the birthday star’s favorite food and drink. Discover their favorite desert and either make or purchase it for the party’s grand finale. Again, if you have chosen a theme be sure to make a cake that matches. Nothing beat being a child and seeing a cake in the shape of your favorite character coming out from the kitchen. There is no reason not to bring that excitement back.
Your friend will be quite touched with the effort you put into making their birthday magical again. Surrounding him or her with friends, balloons and streamers takes away from the sting of knowing they are another year older. Why not ensure that they celebrate the passing of year rather than ignoring it?
